About Me

I began playing basketball at 7 years old as well as various other sports, as I got older I had to choose a sport to focus on, and I immediately knew I was going to play basketball.  I loved the challenge of it, and how much it made me push myself. I began to play competitively in 7th grade when I joined DTX and played under Coach Dave Taylor.  He has shaped my character into who I am today. He has taught me many valuable lessons in life on and off the court.  With the competitive environment in has installed a powerful set of fundamentals,  work ethic, and knowledge. Since playing for DTX I have always played up in age as well as playing with the guys. This helped me adjust to the fast pace of the game which translated in the game. My work ethic, basketball IQ, defense, and shooting ability are some of the assets I contribute to the 17U National team for DTX as a shooting guard.

Unfortunately, I tore my ACL during my freshman basketball season. Nevertheless, I used this as an opportunity to view basketball from a different angle and gain more knowledge about the sport. I was given the chance to assist Coach Taylor and Coach Oberhand in coaching younger children. During this experience, I have learned so much about basketball from two perspectives not only as a player but as a coach.  Coach Taylor and Oberhand taught me everything I know about basketball, because of the opportunity Coach Taylor granted me it never felt like I was ever off the court. The knowledge I have gained from this experience translated to in-game experiences. I am very comfortable on the court understanding, where to be, what decisions to make, and what to do in various in-game circumstances. Not only did I gain knowledge from coaching I was able to reflect and learn from a game due to the film Coach Taylor provides. With that, I can learn from my mistakes and understand what I need to do to become better.
